We talk to Non Secular Exorcist Rachel Stavis about her Memoir Sister Of Satan:Chronicles Of A Modern Day Exorcist. If you've seen the exorcist it isn't like that. No pea soup spewing. Rachel has seen what she calls entities since she was a child. She tried to not see them but eventually she could not avoid them. She can see these entities attached to people. She also gives these entities different names based on the level of malevolence. I saw a Clive attached to Donnies shoulder trying to get him to stop eating pretzels during the show....didnt work. Rachel's is quite a fascinating story. I read her book and it was very good. she writes like she speaks. Very relatable and fun. She was a great guest. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. All I know is Rachel makes people feel better, she does not charge for exorcism but will accept donations.
Then we had a humongous change of pace when we talked to the adorable Stephan Szucs. He is doing an admirable project to clean up the land and seas. It's called Sustainable Joes. He was adorable, he liked my voice HA!! He also called me Miss Grace. Did he mean I was old??? Anyhow whatever he thought he is doing great stuff. Thanks so much to Rachel for coming on the show. She was a great guest and it was a very fascinating interview. Also thanks to Stephan Szuchs for liking my voice..HA! He was adorable. Thanks to you for listening to our show. I believe groovy must have been sung at least thirty times. This song makes me want to dance groovy, smile groovy and be groovy.
I wish grooviness on one and all. Find those moments to laugh and live. Dark times are here but we all need a groovy break. There are many things to cherish. I hope you all will play this and dance groovy and smile..Happy Groovy Sunday!! This scene made me so happy and proud and to have faith in the future. Its amazing. In times like this we must remember THE CONGRESS , THE SENATE AND The TRUMP work for WE THE PEOPLE. If anything this election and the people now in charge of our country have blatantly shown that they could care less about us. They work for themselves and for the very rich donors and lobbyists. We are so divided as a country and its hard see how anyone can believe that any of these people are here for us. Thats why yesterdays March was so important and moving and gave me hope. Thanks guys!! This is our country and our future..
I talk to Author Joseph Egan about his book The Purple Diaries: Mary Astor and the Most Sensational Hollywood Scandal of the 1930s. It talks of Mary's life and the scandal that she thought would end her career. Mary kept diaries and she let it all out on the pages. She talked about her passionate extramarital love affair, friends of hers and all sorts of very personal insights. Her ex-husband found them and basically blackmailed Mary to give him custody of her child and monetary gains. When she signed the paper Mary was very ill and horrified her diaries were made public. After seeing his behavior with their daughter Mary took him to court to get full custody of her daughter. His defense was of course her diaries..It was too juicy for people to resist. The courtroom was packed everyday. There were vendors in the hallways selling hot dogs and popcorn. It was a circus. Joe was great and he had insight into Mary via her daughter that he became email pals with. Its a fascinating story. Things I learned from this show, NEVER have a diary, but if you do don't get into your sex life and talking about other people. I'd have been horrified. Good listen. Mary was a gutsy dame. Mary's family gave Joe so many great pictures and info and he shares it with everyone.
Thanks so much to Joseph Egan for coming on the show and giving us so much great behind the scenes info. He was fun. Thanks so much for listening!! I gave Lou his choice on what he wanted to talk about and he chose this film. I had never heard of it. Its got to be seen to be believed. FDR asked personally for Warner Brothers to make the book into a film to help the war effort. It was one a the first of a few propaganda films put out to sweeten Russias image to the American people. It was directed by Michael Curtiz fresh off his stint of director of Casablanca. The movie was based on a memoir by former Ambassador to Russia Joseph E Davies. You will meet him because he is on smack dab on the screen talking about the movie before the film starts. He was upset they cast Walter Huston because he did not look like him. Guess he had to show us just how much better looking he was. HA! You will get a neck ache from shaking your head as you watch this film. the Ambassador upon hearing that the Russians were spying on them through listening devices just fluffs it off and says "Let them listen. We have nothing to hide." !!!!!! I have to watch it again because the first time it was like a daze, a bunch of Huhhhhss..See Stalin as warm and fuzzy as a cuddly stuffed bear. Hear FDR do his best imitation of God talking to Moses in The Ten Commandments. Learn Cavier and champagne is for everybody!! There really is so much to talk about with this film. I will link you to two articles Lou wrote on this film. I'm so glad he turned me onto it. We end our chat with a few classic Hollywood tidbits. I had a great time with Lou. He will be on again soon to discuss screwball comedies. YAY!!!
Thanks so much to Lou for being such a fabulous guest. Thanks to you, the listeners. Lots of great classic movie talk on the calendar. Two really great women. First up was best selling author Judy Gamin. We discussed her book Age To Perfection: How To Thrive To 100, Happy, Healthy And Wise. She told us stories about the basic path to get there, eat healthy, keep sharp and many other tips We talked about her dear friend Lucille that was a centenarian. Lucille was a hoot and more active then the three of us. She was sharp and funny and still did the bicycle exercise before she went to bed. She traveled all over with Judy and had such a joy of living. She became one of Judy's dearest friends. Her next book that will be out soon is Love, Life and Lucille...A memoir about a centenarian that changed my life forever. As a tribute to her pal. I know I'm going to read it. How lucky we all would be to have a Lucille in our lives. Judy is a warm, positive person with a great sense of humor. We loved her and want her back on when her next book is released. Next was my pal Alexis Hunter talking about her book Joi Lansing..A Body To Die For. Donnie kept looking at Alex's picture and muttering she is totally my type. She was open and fun. Of course we both loved her as well. When the podcast was finished I called Alex and found out new scoops. I asked about the ring Joi gave her. She still wears it to this day. She sent me a pic, so beautiful. Also Stan, Jois husband in name only did not know that Joi and Alex were a couple. Two years after Jois death from cancer they met up again and Stan asked her the question. Donnie and I both agreed that Alex's book should be a movie. A sex symbol that dated Sinatra, Sid Caeser and lots of others was then in a same sex relationship wouldn't fly. She'd have been a pariah, this is the late 60's and early 70's. Alex was called Rachel Hunter and passed off as Jois baby sister. Its a great read. A beautiful love story with a heartbreaking ending. Its a must read, must be a movie.. I want to thank Judy and Alexis for coming on the show and being positive, warm and very endearing . WE LOVED YOU BOTH!! Mostly thanks to our listeners. We so appreciate you Donnie and Grace xoxo All things Judy www.judygaman.com Check out Alex's amazing reviews https://www.amazon.com/Joi-Lansing-Body-Alexis-Hunter-ebook/dp/B014LCWPAK/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1519825239&sr=1-1&keywords=joi+lansing+a+body+to+die+for you can also listen on www.inyourfacewithdonnieandgrace.podbean.com Please follow us on our facebook page www.facebook.com/inyourfacewithdonnieandgrace Donnies website www.donniekehr.com My new podcast www.truestoriesoftinseltown.podbean.com please follow me on Facebook.com/truestoriesoftinseltown We talked to Jenn Hand about food obsession. We spend countless moments thinking about what we ate, what we shouldn't eat or I can't believe I ate that. We give too much time to food think. Take the I can't away and eat sensibly, don't deny yourself a piece of cake or pizza. Diets don't work. We are all different, our thoughts, our beliefs and our bodies. It's time to say no to body hate. Truly, toss the scale. It is liberating. We talk about getting on the scale every time we put food in our mouth. That little object and the number on it has ruined so many peoples days. Jen talks about sensible ways of eating. Depriving ourselves a particular food only makes you want it more. Jenn was so great and smart and funny. We loved her. It truly was like we were sitting around sipping wine. You may hear a very attractive drilling sound in the background. They are working on my building and were right outside my window. Its the kind of sound that could make you go insane...I'm half way there anyway. So please forgive the noise.
Thanks so much to Jenn for being fun and smart and open. Mostly thanks to our listeners. Keep hanging in..
